Should You Upgrade From Bushnell Tour V6 Shift to Tour V7 Shift?

How well is your current Tour V6 Shift still performing?

If the V6 Shift remains accurate, reliable and physically sound, the upgrade needs a real feature reason.

It works reliably and still gives me fast, trustworthy yardages. My current V6 Shift has no meaningful performance or condition problem. It is aging, damaged or becoming unreliable enough that replacement makes sense. I want a current-generation replacement rather than maintaining an older unit.

Would the Tour V7 Shift red/green OLED materially improve your viewing?

The V7 Shift moves to a premium red/green OLED experience versus the older V6-era display approach.

My current V6 display is easy for me to read in the conditions I play. I would not upgrade mainly for a display change. Yes. Better visibility in changing light is a meaningful upgrade for me. The dual-color OLED is one of the features I would notice every round.

Would you use Yardage Range Recall or LINK-enabled features?

These V7-era conveniences matter only if they change how you practice or use connected performance data.

No. I mainly need laser distance, slope and JOLT. I do not use compatible connected data enough to justify an upgrade. Yes. Range recall or LINK/MyBag-style integration would add real value. I want the newer connected-capable Tour workflow.

Are the shared fundamentals already enough?

Both generations provide the core Bushnell Tour formula: 6x-class laser use, long range, slope-shift behavior, BITE-style cart convenience and replaceable-battery ownership.

Yes. The core Tour experience I already own covers my real needs. I would rather keep a working device than upgrade for incremental improvements. No. I specifically want the newer V7 user experience and current product support. The new display/recall/LINK package makes the upgrade feel meaningful.

How much do current product generation and fresh warranty/support matter?

A newer model can make sense when you want a new purchase lifecycle rather than only a spec improvement.

My existing V6 Shift is supported enough for my needs. I am comfortable owning a legacy device while it continues to work well. I want a new current-line model with a fresh purchase/warranty cycle. Reducing legacy ownership risk is part of why I want to upgrade.

What is your value test for replacing a working V6 Shift?

Do not upgrade just because V7 is newer; upgrade when the delta solves something you care about.

If my V6 is accurate and reliable, I would rather keep it. The V7 improvements do not solve a big enough problem for me. I will upgrade if OLED, range recall, LINK or current-generation ownership matter enough. The feature/ownership delta is meaningful enough to justify moving to V7 Shift.
